Note yellow banner on stern of vessel, this was one of our sponsors; (probably Trailways) as we did not use City funds for voyages - including fuel costs.
The food was even catered and donated by local businesses, and a lot of guys particularly loved our sponsor Budweiser, providing us a cargo hold full of beer - for off duty consumption of course...
The Lightship Chesapeake was supposed to have been a "pivot ship" for the tall ships (Op sail) during the statue of Liberty rededication; she never got the chance, due to some bad press while in the shipyard...
