 - November 2010 - Volunteer work day - Saturday the 20th - ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE; 9am to 2pm.  Great work day everyone: Alma, Tony, Anne, Heidi, Hobie, Lynne, Drew, Lauren, Paula, Ashlie and Andy.  Started out a little chilly, but lots of tasks were completed, making the Lightship just a little bit better!!!

 - October 2010 - Volunteer work day - Saturday the 2nd,  Canceled. 

 - September 2010 - Volunteer work day - Saturday the 18th - COMPLETED

 - September 15th to 18th  - The 9th Maritime Heritage Conference, hosted by HSIB in Baltimore MD -  click Here for more info.  These conferences are held once every three years.

  - August 21st, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM:  Victory Night at HSIB - Honoring those who served on the Historic Ships HSIB displays and maintains, and the volunteers and members who help preserve their legacy.  Free to HSIB volunteers but advanced registration is required.  Very NICE evening.  Wish some LS crew would show up, met lots of Taney crew.

  - August 7th - NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY  -  By a joint resolution designating this day as “National Lighthouse Day" which was introduced to Congress on April 28, 1988 and signed into public law (No. 100-622) on November 5, 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.  Click HERE for more info.

  - August 1st through 8th 2010 - the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society  International Lighthouse-Lightship week.  See the web sites: illw.org and illw.co.uk .  This event used to be held on the third weekend in Aug, but due to an increase in popularity it is now the first full week in August.  

  - June 2010 - Volunteer work day - Saturday the 12th; 9:00am to 4pm; Completed.

  - May 2010 - Volunteer work day - Saturday the 1st; 9:30am to 4pm - ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society work day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.    Also special guest volunteers, the Sea Scouts from Ship 7916 in the Washington, DC area.            This was an extremely busy, but very successful work day.    Thank you all !!!

  - April 2010 - Volunteer work day - Monday the 19th;  Completed.  A very busy day.

  - April 2010 - Salvage trip to the James River Reserve Fleet in Newport News, VA - Tue+Wed the 6th-7th.  A very successful salvage trip.  Many thanks to the JRRF staff for their support of the HSIB mission, maintaining the wonderful museum ships located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

  - March 2010 - Volunteer work day - Saturday the 27th - ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE; 9:30am to 4:30pm.  COMPLETED.  Thanks very much to Alma, Anne, Heidi, Jamie + Tony for all the hard work!

  - 21 March 2010 - Past Crew member Paul Bosco visited the Lightship.  He assisted with the updating of the draft restoration plan for the lightship by providing first hand recollections of various spaces, copies of ship photos he had personally taken and independent confirmation of other reported changes that are needed for accurate restoration.  Thank you Paul!

  - February 2010 - Volunteer work day - CANCELED.

  - Friday 12 February - Salvage trip to Suisan Bay Reserve Fleet in San Francisco, CA.  Successful trip, removed parts from the ex USS Nereus, AS-17 and the ex USS Mispillion, AO-105 for both the Taney and the Lightship.

  - January 2010 - Volunteer work days - dates: Monday 18th 9 am to 12 noon; AND Monday 25th 9 am to 1pm. - completed.
