 - August 7th - NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY  -  By a joint resolution designating this day as “National Lighthouse Day" which was introduced to Congress on April 28, 1988 and signed into public law (No. 100-622) on November 5, 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.  Click HERE for more info.

 - August  -  Saturday the 6th, Volunteer work day - 8:45am to 3:00pm Completed.

 - July - Saturday the 16th, Volunteer work day - 8:45am to 2:15pm.  Completed.

 - June - Monday the 20th   1 day visit to Philly USN Inactive Ship Facility.  CANCELED.`

 - June - Saturday the 4th, Volunteer work day - 8:45am to 4:30pm.  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.  COMPLETED.  Another GREAT work day thanks to the hard working volunteers from the CC-LHS: Andy, Anne, Drew, Ed, Greg, Hobie, Lynne + Tony!  Thanks everyone!! 

 - May 22nd - National Maritime Day  National Maritime Day is observed on May 22, the date that the American steamship Savannah sailed from the United States to England. This event marked the first successful crossing of the Atlantic Ocean using steam propulsion.  On May 20, 1933, Congress declared May 22 as National Maritime Day.  During World War II more than 250,000 members of the American Merchant Marine served their country, with more than 6700 giving their lives, hundreds being detained as prisoners of war and more than 800 ships being sunk or damaged.  In 2006 the Maritime Administration joined forces with the American Association of Port Authorities, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Waterways Council Inc, the US Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other entities involved in the maritime industry to raise the awareness of National Maritime Day and of the maritime industry as a whole.

 - May - Saturday the 14th, Volunteer work day - 9am to 5:15pm.    COMPLETED.    USLHS group tour of the Lightship and Lighthouse.  Enjoyed talking with fellow lighthouse enthusiasts and stamping passports.

 - April -  Saturday the 23rd, Volunteer work day - 8:30am to 4:15pm.  COMPLETED.  A rainy morning but turned out to be a very busy day.  Thanks Andy and John.

 - April - ONE-Day Salvage trip to the James River Reserve Fleet in Newport News, VA - dive down on Monday, visit ships on Tuesday the 19th.  Meet there at 0645.   COMPLETED, very successful!  Thanks much to Andy, Hobie and John for being there and helping out.  It was a long day!

 - March -  Saturday the 26th, Volunteer work day - 9am to 4:30pm;  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.  COMPLETED  The CC-LHS volunteers accomplished a significant amount of work!   Thank you Alma, Andy, Anne, Barbra, Carolyn, Hobie, Larry, Lauren, Paula, Tony, and Trez.

 - February -  Saturday the 19th, Volunteer work day - 0830 to 1200.  COMPLETED
