 - November -  Saturday the 17th, 9am to 4pm;  ALSO, the last Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE for 2012.  COMPLETED.    Thank you to Anne, Alma, Donna, Heidi, Hobie, Jeff, Tony and Winnie for giving up your Saturday to help finish some needed preservation before the winter season.

 - October - Saturday the 20th, SPECIAL event - visit by former LS crew member CG Seaman Clark, who served on board from 1952 until August 1954.    Completed, photos  published.  See the new page in the pull-down menu under Past Crew Members.

 - October - Saturday the 13th, Volunteer work day - cancelled.  JRRF parts drop off only.

 - October -  ONE-Day Salvage trip to the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) in Newport News, VA -  DATE  is Tuesday 9 Oct at be at the JRRF gate at 0650.

 - September 19th-22nd - Historic Naval Ship Association annual conference in Key West FL.   www.hnsa.org

 - September  - Saturday the 29th, Volunteer work day - 9am to 4:30pm.  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.   COMPLETED.  A big Thank You to: Anne, Hobie, Lauren, Paula + Tony.   These guys are doing dirty but wonderful work! 

  - August 25th - Victory Night at Historic Ships In Baltimore (HSIB) - 6 to 8pm.  A celebration of all who served on the HSIB historic ships and the descendants, members and volunteers who preserve those ships.  FREE event BUT a RSVP is REQUIRED.  LS volunteers contact Greg for more information and to RSVP.  

 - August  -  Saturday the 25th, Volunteer work day - 9 am to 3:45pm. COMPLETED

  - August 18th + 19th 2012 - the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society International Lighthouse-Lightship weekend.  See the web site: illw.net . 

  - August 7th - NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY  -  By a joint resolution designating this day as “National Lighthouse Day" which was introduced to Congress on April 28, 1988 and signed into public law (No. 100-622) on November 5, 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.  Click HERE for more info.

  - July - Saturday the 28th(DATE CHANGE), Volunteer work day - 9am to 4pm.  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.  COMPLETED.  Thanks to Anne, Barbara, Ed + Lawrence for the hard work today despite the heat.   And Welcome Aboard to new HSIB staff member Rob and thanks to him for the much needed assist today.

 - May - One-Day Salvage trip of the ex-USS Forrest Sherman at the US Navy Inactive Ship facility in Philadelphia - drive down and back the same day, Monday the 14th. 

 - May - Saturday the 12th, Volunteer work day - 8:45am to 4:15pm.  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.  COMPLETED.  A small crew but a lot of work accomplished.  Thanks to Anne, Hobie, Tony and Joan who experienced her first time on board.  A special thanks to Earl for all his support over the last year, it was a big help.

 - April -  Saturday the 21st, Volunteer work day - 07:30am to 2:00pm. 

 - April -  ONE-Day Salvage trip to the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) in Newport News, VA - drive down on the 9th, visit ships on Tuesday the 10th.  Meet at JRRF at 0645.   Completed and successful.  Thanks to volunteers Andy and Hobie and the JRRF staff for making this a good strip-ship trip!

 - March -  Saturday the 24th, Volunteer work day - 8am to 3:30pm;  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.   COMPLETED.  Great work day despite the rain.  Many Thanks to volunteers Andy, Anne, Barbara, Heidi, Hobie, Jamie, Lauren, Paula, and Tony.   A special Thanks to the first-time volunteers today, Claudia, Cory, Karl and Val.
