- December - Saturday the 4th, Volunteer work day - 9:30 am - 3:00 pm. (subject to change)

- November - Saturday the 20th,  Volunteer work day - 9:20 am to 1:50 pm.  COMPLETED

- November -  Saturday the 13th, Volunteer work day - 8:30 am to 3:15 pm.  ALSO,  Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE. COMPLETED.  Thanks to Greg and Sue.  Despite the rain and cold which prevented any outdoor painting, significant indoor work was completed.  We did get some Christmas lights up around the Aft Deck house, just need to set up the plug and timer for them.


 - October - Saturday the 2nd, Volunteer work day - 8:45 am to 4:00 pm.  ALSO, Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE. COMPLETED.  Thanks to Greg, Heidi and Samuel for getting a good start on much needed painting and the installation of 2 period clocks in the Galley and Pilothouse as the first restoration project approved by the NPS. 


  - September - Saturday the 4th,  Volunteer work day - 8:30 am to Noon.  COMPLETED


  - August  -  Saturday the 28th, Volunteer work day - 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. COMPLETED


     - August 21st + 22nd 2021 - the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society International Lighthouse-Lightship weekend.  See the web site: illw.net .


  - August  -  Saturday the 14th, Volunteer work day - 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. COMPLETED


   - August 7th - NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY  -  By a joint resolution designating this day as "National Lighthouse Day" which was introduced to Congress on April 28, 1988 and signed into public law (No. 100-622) on November 5, 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.     Click HERE to see the 2013 US Senate Resolution.    The date of August 7th was selected because on that date in 1789, President George Washington signed the Lighthouse Act of 1789 which transferred ownership and operation of all lighthouses in the U.  - April -  Saturday the 10th, Volunteer work day - 9:55 am to 12:15 pm.  Restricted to only one volunteer to catch up on work in preparation for opening in June.   COMPLETED.


 - April -  Saturday the 3rd, Volunteer work day - 9:50 am to 11:05 pm.  Restricted to only one volunteer to catch up on work in preparation for opening in June.   COMPLETED.


 - March HSIB Museum is CLOSED.


- MARCH 27th - Graveside ceremony to honor the ships first Master, Alexander Andersen and dedicate a US Lighthouse Service Marker placed at his grave; ALSO celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Lightship 116 being placed in service on 31 July 1930, postponed from 2020 due to COVID.


  - February HSIB Museum is CLOSED.
