There
are some specific projects that we need specialized volunteer help
with, they are listed on the Volunteer Projects page in the pull-down
menu above for this page.
The 2023 volunteer work dates for the year are below. Winter dates can be changed at short notice due to weather. Extra days can be added at short notice.
- October - Weekday the TBD, Volunteer work day - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- October - Saturday the TBD, Volunteer work day - 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day on Lightship CHESAPEAKE.
- September - Weekday the TBD, Volunteer work day 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- September - TBD, MARYLAND FLEET WEEK and FLYOVER BALTIMORE.
- August - Weekday the TBD, Volunteer work day - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- August 19th + 20th 2022 - the International Lighthouse-Lightship weekend, an annual event managed by the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society. See the web site: https://illw.net/
- August 7th - NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY - By a joint resolution designating this day as "National Lighthouse Day" which was introduced to Congress on April 28, 1988 and signed into public law (No. 100-622) on November 5, 1988 by President Ronald Reagan. date of August 7th was selected because on that date in 1789, President
George Washington signed the Lighthouse Act of 1789 which transferred
ownership and operation of all lighthouses in the U. S. to the federal

- May 21st Sunday - National Maritime Day Event at John W. Brown. more info HERE
- May Weekday the TBD - Additional Vol work day - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- May - Saturday the 6th, Volunteer work day - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society Volunteer Work Day. COMPLETED. Thanks to Greg, Heidi and Laura for their wonderful efforts and work. So much was done to clean and refurbish important items and prepare for future historic displays.
