From 1930 through 1982 there have been hundreds of sailors from the US Lighthouse Service, US Coast Guard and the National Park Service who have served on board the Lightship 116/538.
In addition to the work volunteers are doing to preserve this wonderful piece of U.S. maritime history, we are working to identify all the past crew, from the Masters + Commanding Officers to the entire crew when possible.
This is an on-going project using copies of the ships Deck Logs and Crew Musters from the National Archives and various other documents. We also count on actual past crew to contact us, especially for the Park Service years from 1971 to 1982.
